I wrote the initial hook for this song way back in 2007 or 2008, I put it on a demo and gave it to a friend who was a fan; at some point he passed it on to a music supervisor who gave me the notes that it 'sucked' and it sounded like the 'singer needed to have a few more bottles of wine and try it again.' The earlier lyrics ended up being too bitter for my taste, and so I reworked them and added in a new verse at the end to tie it together. Very happy with this live take.
